How the UAE licence and cost plan is calculated

The planner turns your answers into a jurisdiction recommendation, a licence family and a cost range built from verified provider packages plus the government fees that sit outside them. Every range shows its components rather than a single marketing number.

Step 1 — your activity decides the licence family

Trading, e-commerce, consultancy, services, industrial and freelance activities map to different licence families, and some activities need external approvals before a licence is issued. The planner classifies your business idea first, because the activity determines which jurisdictions can legally host it.

Step 2 — jurisdiction follows where you sell

Selling to the UAE domestic market onshore points to a mainland licence from the emirate's economic department. Selling B2B, exporting or working online usually fits a free zone package. Holding assets with no UAE operations points to an offshore vehicle, which cannot issue residence visas.

Step 3 — visas and office drive the real cost

Visa quota is tied to your facility. A flexi-desk supports a small quota; more visas require more leased space, which is the single largest cost jump in most plans. Each visa also carries government charges for entry permit, status change, medical, Emirates ID and stamping.

Step 4 — first year versus renewal

Year-one totals include one-off registration, name reservation, notarisation and establishment card items that do not repeat. Renewal is the licence, facility lease and per-visa charges. The planner separates the two so you are not comparing a first-year price against a competitor's renewal price.
